Prime Day

Mzansi, Prime is here.

For the first time ever, Prime Day is coming to South Africa from 23 - 29 June 2026

What does Prime Day mean for your business?

Prime Day is Amazon's annual deal event exclusively for Prime members — and it's here in South Africa for the very first time. Globally, Prime Day has grown into one of the largest shopping events in the world, with independent sellers achieving record sales year after year*.

For South African sellers, this is your chance to reach Prime members who are actively looking to buy — a paying subscriber base with high purchase intent. Prime Day concentrates that demand into a single event, driving a surge in traffic and giving your products more visibility than any ordinary trading day. Here's what you need to know.

More eyeballs on your products

Prime members are active, deal-hunting shoppers ready to buy.

Higher sales velocity

Many sellers see their best trading days of the year during Prime Day.

New customer acquisition

Prime Day brings in shoppers who may never have discovered your brand before.

Increased review opportunities

More sales means more chances to build your product ratings.

Plan for increased traffic and high demand

Plan ahead for Prime Day. Prepare your advertising budget and best-selling inventory for this popular shopping event.
Optimise your listings for Prime Day
Use bullet points and high-quality images to highlight unique product benefits. You can also bring your brand’s story to life with A+ Content, which lets you add videos, enhanced images, shoppable product-comparison charts, and more to your listings.
Manage Prime Day inventory and send stock early
Use strategic inventory management to meet demand and keep your business running smoothly.
Plan ahead
With quick turnaround events like Prime Day, best-selling inventory doesn’t stay in Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) storage for long. Make sure your inventory arrives by the needed date, then generate demand with pre-event marketing campaigns.
Stock up
Make sure your most popular products are stocked to meet expected demand. By having products available for sale in the Amazon store, you can take advantage of the increased customer traffic Prime Day brings.
