Customer Reviews

Why oh why are we not able to at least respond to customer reviews:

On a number of occasions now with different products where the customer either orders the wrong size of something (clearly stated in the review) or berates a products dimensions (clearly not paying heed to the measurements) or even when a product works perfectly performing the task it was designed for (safety mechanism) complains it didn't fix their issue, and then proceeds to leave a negative review, which we are unable to remove or state their error in purchase...

Unsure who to tag in this but I think we all would agree it needs to be looked at as a matter of urgency, as it is possible to drag a perfectly good product into disrepute and affect sales.

Please Amazon it affects your profits as well as us sellers...

It used to be an option, but Amazon removed it a while back (2 or 3 years?).

Brand Registered sellers do have some ability to contact buyers about reviews.

because Amazon run a catalogue system, so on an ASIN anyone can leave a review whether they have purchased it or not.

But they could have bought that product from anyone

Now Amazon could put in more programming rules to identify if a customer is reviewing based on a sale from a particular seller but it doesn’t really benefit Amazon and then they’d also have to moderate the responses, which could upset the customer if the seller was rude in the response.

Remember to amazon the customer is king, a seller will at some point be rude to a customer if they allowed review responses and Amazon do not want that

I wouldn't worry about it too much, the whole review thing is shot (internet-wide) as a result of manipulation, misuse & abuse; people take very little notice of them nowadays and rely on buyer protection.
