Exporting to the US - De minimis rule changes

Hello

We are a UK business and we export some products to the US through Amazon FBA, storing inventory in their warehouses. The majority of our products are manufactured in China (though European brands),. Up to now we have been sending inventory as small shipments under the 800 USD De Minimis threshold . My understanding was that as the products are manufactured in China that they would be subject to the De Minimis rule changes and no longer get through without import charges and be subject to the new taxes Trump has imposed.

When i create an inbound shipment on UPS however, the estimated import charges still come back at 0.00 USD. I am unsure if this is an error on UPS's part and we will indeed be taxed heavily on the point of import, or if I have misunderstood have the tariffs work and that if it is just shipments from China impacted by the new rules rather than being based off the Country of orgin and therefore as we are shipping from the UK we are unimpacted?

Any help clarifying would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Alex
