Royal mail rates

Hi everyone,

I just wondered if anyone on here has a business rate with Royal mail and can give a bit of in sight of what to expect?

I've read that you have to put everything in sacks before taking to the post office, this is putting me off slightly as I don't drive unfortunately. Is there any way you can just drop off parcels has and when you get orders? Rather than in sacks etc

Thanks

You need to separate the parcel types and service types. If you have a high enough volume, you should be able to get free collections so you don't have to take them.

So if you're sending RM24/48, you need to separate all 4 of 24 LL, 24 parcel, 48 LL and 48 Parcel from each other, and international post needs to be separate as well.

For International in particular how you need it separated depends on the service type. Your account manager should explain how those need separating.

If you have a large enough volume or send at least 1000 tracked items a year, you can arrange a free collection. I don't drive and they closed our local post office, so I know the problem. For a while I played at being Father Christmas on the bus though.

By the sounds of things i doubt you would qualify for business rates.

If i'm wrong and you send 5000 tracked a year you can get very competitve rates and free collections from royal mail.

If your doing low volume just get a click and drop account and you can continue to drop your paclkages to th post office as and when they come in.

We're required to put ours in the grey trays and hand it over to the post office as we have a small volume and the sacks are too big.

Once you open your account, I'm sure someone from collections will discuss your best options as to what they prefer for presenting your mail.

I have a Royal Mail Online Business Account for my postings.

But the Printing Company on the lower floor of the building . Do not have many parcels to send out on a regular daily basis, so they just use the Royal Mail Click and Drop Service when they need it .

They can purchase their postage online and get their packages picked up for free by Royal Mail save them going to the Post Office

Depends really how many packages you are sending out to get the best price.
