New UPC code

I have a brand-new UPC barcode printed on custom product boxes for a new ASIN. Since the new UPC barcode is from GS1, do I still need to attach an FNSKU label to my products?

Are you shipping the product to FBA?

The UPC code is for the actual product identification in the real world. It is the product's identity and belongs on the item/packaging.

The FNSKU is for Amazon's internal use.

Now with that said. If you intend to use FBA, have you test sold the product yourself (FBM), first for at least a month? Smart sellers do. That way, you will know the product's salability, and if there is enough profit in the product to pay all the fees Amazon will assess and still have your desired profit remaining for yourself. In addition, hold back another month's worth of product to keep selling FBM while you wait for the product to be ready for FBA sales.

Jumping into FBA feet first with no sales record, usually leads to a disaster.

Hello @Seller_4n7kk1AvXFLRn,

Michelle at Amazon here. It would all depend on your product, product category, if you are the brand owner and several other factors. I cannot find any cases with Seller Support in your account, however, I have reviewed your listings and see that you have listed your items as generic for the brand. The products you are listing have a brand on them, therefore, this is a policy violation. You will need to delete these listings and create them with the correct brand and UPC that is listed on the product as leaving them the way they are can lead to account suspension. You can review the generics policy here.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Michelle
