🧐 How Should You Choose Products to Sell?
by Seller_z3k8APxGfbQEK
Amazon replied

As you consider expanding your Amazon business to international marketplaces, choosing the right products is crucial. This guide will help you strategically select and introduce products that resonate with customers in new markets.

Why Product Selection Matters

📍 Different markets have unique consumer preferences

📍 Cultural, climate, and demographic factors influence buying decisions

📍 Successful products in one country may not perform well in another

📍 Proper research can uncover untapped opportunities

Step 1: Analyze Your Current Best-Sellers

Start with what you know works:

  • Identify your top-performing products in your home Amazon store
  • Analyze key success factors:

→ Customer demand

→ Seasonality

→ Competitive advantage

→ Profit margins

Consider how these factors might translate to new markets:

  • Will seasonal products align with the target country's climate?
  • Do cultural differences impact product relevance?
  • How does pricing compare to local alternatives?

Step 2: Diversify Your Product Offerings

Cast a wider net to gauge market response:

  • List a variety of products beyond just your top sellers
  • Include complementary items or product variations
  • Start with lighter inventory to minimize risk

Benefits of a broader selection:

  • Quickly identify which products resonate with new customers
  • Adapt your strategy based on early performance data
  • Minimize risk by not over-committing to specific items

Step 3: Conduct Thorough Marketplace Research

Dive deep into your target marketplace:

  • Review Amazon's best-sellers in relevant categories
  • Analyze new arrivals and trending products
  • Identify gaps in product offerings or unmet customer needs

Extend your research beyond Amazon:

  • Explore local ecommerce sites and marketplaces
  • Read industry publications and market reports
  • Consider partnering with local experts or consultants

💡 Pro Tips:

  • Use Amazon tools like Market Basket Analysis to understand purchasing patterns
  • Monitor customer reviews in target markets for product improvement ideas
  • Stay flexible and be prepared to adjust your product mix based on performance

🔑 Key Considerations:

  • Compliance with local regulations and safety standards
  • Packaging and labeling requirements for each market
  • Currency fluctuations and pricing strategy
  • Shipping costs and logistics for bulky or fragile items

📑 Next Steps:

1. Create a shortlist of potential products for each target market

2. Develop a testing strategy to introduce products gradually

3. Set up tracking to monitor performance across marketplaces

4. Plan for inventory management across multiple locations

💡 Remember: Successful international expansion often requires patience and continuous learning. Be prepared to adapt your strategy as you gain insights into each new market.

Need More Help?

📌 Consult Amazon's Global Selling guides

📌 Join seller forums to connect with experienced international sellers

📌 Consider Amazon's fulfillment services to simplify logistics

By taking a thoughtful, research-driven approach to product selection, you'll be well-positioned to succeed as you expand your Amazon business internationally.

In the last couple of weeks, Amazon has changed the default placement of where Sponsored Products campaigns appear from on Amazon to 'Amazon and beyond' "sites".

"Sites are where specific ad placements can appear. These can be websites or apps.”

The two available Sites options are now "Amazon and beyond" or "Amazon Business".

So without any announcement, or ability to opt-out, all Sponsored Products campaigns have now been transitioned to 'Amazon and beyond' and your ad budget is being spent (at the same bids) on random websites and apps.

There is currently no report available to see where your ads are now appearing, or even what the potential list of websites and apps are where ads could show.

There is no ability to opt-out, and when you create a new campaign you also only have these two options.

If you've noticed your ACOS suddenly increase, this is very likely the reason why.

Even for Amazon this is a new low, with no transparency or ability to opt-out. You're now paying for ads on some random website or app, with likely no intent, at the same cost. Shocking levels of deception.

Promotional ads credit
by Seller_glJSbexsCcivD
Amazon replied

I received 125 promotional credit around 10th of July and I started to use ads since then and yesterday I've been charged on my card for ads even if my promotional credit is 95£.

Can anybody explain to me why is that happening and how to use that credit without being charged?

Thank you

Huge drop in sales over last few days??
by Seller_9WpKepNkIQmK9

Orders have gone down significantly over last week and we can't seem to pin point the reason why. We are winning the buy box on all our fast selling lines.

Have any other sellers experienced such a drop?

Flexible Customer Financing
by Seller_Zovt1x5tinPh5
Amazon replied

Hi all - maybe someone can help me understand something I don't see any detail on anywhere:

The Flexible Customer Finance programme (FCF) is a programme that lets your customers "spread the cost of their purchases on goods between £80 and £3000." So I have enabled the feature and it works on some of my ASINS.

But when I look at competitor ASINS I see this feature enabled at much lower price points. (screenshot below)

Clearly this creates a two tier system where sellers in the same category are able to offer enhancements that other cannot? Am I missing something? Has anyone come across this before?

Brand Tailored Promotion Question
by Seller_HmXs9Pk97Wcpt
Amazon replied

Where can i view "Spend" for my BTP's by order? I've tried running a Transaction View from Reports Repository and analysing the "Promotional Rebates" column but I cannot see anything that would line up with the spend from BTPs. Any idea?

Significant decrease of sales through Amazon
by Seller_i3BQXQMmRlwip

I am selling toys and I have noticed a significant decrease of sales through Amazon last months (around 30-50% in comparsion with same period of last year). I am doing the same things like in the past (checking the supplies, prices, etc), also I have a positive account health.

Have you notices same problems, or is this a common sign of any sales in Amazon, or were there some changes in the system or new rules?? Dont you know what could be the reason?

Amazon agency
by Seller_8W2oO5yySoxDc

Hello, we are considering seeking the help of 'Amazon agency', which specialises in product and listing updates, Amazon ads, and generally helps to boost Amazon sales. Has anyone ever used one of those agencies? I'm not asking for any specific one. I'd like to hear the pros and cons of using this type of agency. I'd appreciate any comments. Many thanks, Hana.
