Hello Amazon sellers!

I wanted to share some essential packaging best practices for Direct-to-Customer Shipping that I've observed consistently leading to success across our seller community. Proper packaging is absolutely essential for protecting your goods and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Here are some proven packaging tips:

  • Always use new, clean and undamaged packaging materials
  • Ensure items are properly secured and don't jostle about inside the package
  • Provide proper cushioning/support on all sides, with at least two inches of space between fragile items and the box exterior
  • All products must be fully protected - no items covered only with stretch wrap or poly bags
  • Seal all seams with 3-inch packaging tape or water-activated tape (must cause fibre tear when removed)
  • Implement corner boards to prevent banding/strap damage

From reviewing numerous seller discussions, I've noticed it's particularly important to use boxes that maintain their shape during transit and aren't compromised by moisture.

  • Verify product authenticity: Use unique codes to ensure that only authentic, accurate items are shipped to customers. Whether they’re fulfilled by Amazon or shipped directly by a seller, your products can’t be sold in the Amazon store without this Transparency protection.
  • Engage with customers: Connect with customers’ post-purchase. Both the Amazon Shopping and Transparency apps allow customers to scan codes to confirm authenticity and access promotions, videos, posts, or other content about their item.
  • Optimize your supply chain: Get additional insights on your units at the batch or lot level, helping you identify supply chain issues, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions with minimal disruption to your business.

Easter Sunday 2025 (April 20, 2025) has been officially added to the holiday list in shipping settings

🔄 Easter Sunday will now be automatically added every year going forward! No more callouts needed!

💡 Pro Tip: It's always good practice to review your holiday settings at the start of each year, even with this automation in place.

Forums Feature Launch: Follow Your Fellow Sellers

Hello again! Last month, we launched the ability to 🔔New Forum Feature: Follow Discussions you’re interested in using the new ‘Follow’ button that can now be found on the original post or at the end of a thread after the replies.

When the ‘Follow’ button is selected, you’ll get a pop-up on the Notifications tab whenever there is new activity in a conversation.

We are now excited to announce that we are launching the ability to Follow a Seller or Amazon Community Manager on Seller Forums! With this new feature, you’ll never miss an update from your favorite posters and Community Managers! Simply click the new ‘Follow’ button on their profile or profile pop-up and you’ll get a pop-up on the Notifications tab whenever they have a new post or reply (just like the Follow discussions feature).

Your profile activity has been updated as well with the addition of a being able to see how many people follow you and how many people you follow. There are also new filters added to the activity section of the profile where you can toggle between your Followed discussions and individual users you follow.

You’ll also be able to see a summary of your Followed users in the new Follow filters on the home, discussions, and profile pages. Plus, you can customize your notification preferences at any time in the Preferences tab.

Connect with other selling partners, get access to trusted Amazon Community Managers and thought leaders, and share experiences and best practices to help grow your business on the Seller Forums, no matter where you are. Visit the Seller Forums today.
